Bill Reid Framed Etchings
One of Canada’s foremost artists, Haida artist Bill Reid, an
outstanding gold and silversmith turned sculptor, has been proclaimed a
national treasure and was instrumental in inspiring a Native people to
reclaim their cultural heritage. Building upon the broad range of his
expression, Bill Reid has translated his original designs of animal crests
into a series of eight copper etchings, four gold etchings and four silver
etchings. $29.00 each.
Each 8 1/2” x 6” print is double matted and framed in a 13” x 11”
copper, gold, or silver frame. Each piece comes with a biography of the
artist and the Haida legend of the image.
Available copper images are Salmon, Wolf, Killer Whale, Frog, Beaver,
Dogfish, Eagle, and Raven.
Available gold images are The Raven & First Men, The Raven Steals the
Salmon, The Bear Mother, The Eagle & the Frog.
Available silver images are Haida Wolf Drum, Haida Beaver Drum, Haida
Dogfish Drum, Haida Bullhead Drum.
We can also enhance the framing or frame two or three together for special
presentations. Also available are engraved plaques which can be inlaid into
the matt before framing.

This Haida Grizzly Bear is a soft version of the large cedar bear in the
Great Hall of the UBC Museum of Anthropology which was carved in 1962 by
